Marco Zanoli
Marco Zanoli: Born in 1971 in Gallarate (Italy). Started studying drums at the age of 15. Graduated at the Mozart College in Samarate (VA) in 1991 where he studied drums and percussions with Roberto Cavallo. Following his graduation, continues his studies with such masters as Elliot Zigmund, Gianni Cazzola, Ron Savage, Fabrizio Sferra, Ettore Fioravanti, Mauro Beggio. In addition to that, participates in a number of master classes and courses - such as Berklee College Summer School in Perugia, Siena Jazz and Sondrio Jazz.
In 1996, attracted by the art of improvisation, attends high profile Jazz Trio workshop led by Stefano Battaglia, Paolino Dalla Porta and Fabrizio Sferra.
He’s a member of "THEATRUM" band of Stefano Battaglia from 2001 At present, performs as a concert artist in a variety of styles ranging from traditional jazz through contemporary and avant-garde jazz to projects of improvised and experimental music. Being an active performer and studio musician, Mr. Zanoli is also a faculty member of several music colleges in Italy and Switzerland such as “Centro Espressione Musica - Gallarate”, “Nuova Busto Musica - Busto Arsizio”, “Accademia Musicale Perosi - Borsano”, “Le Jarden Musical - Bellinzona”, "Civica Scuola di Musica Mortara (PV)". In addition to his concert and teaching activities, is currently pursuing yet another one, of a composer.
In 2005, became one of the winners of “Porsche Giovani e Jazz” competition.
Has performed on such prestigious stages as “Sala dei Ritratti” in Fermo (AP), il “Teatro Regina Margherita” in Marcialla (FI), “Auditorium Libertà” in Bergamo, “Teatro Lauro Rossi” in Macerata, “Sala Verdi” in Milan, Teatro Grande in Brescia, “Auditorium Montemezzi” in Verona, “Casa del Jazz” in Rome, “Palazzo Spadaro” in Scicli (RG), “Palazzo dei Mercedari” in Modica (RG), “Palazzo Ducale - Sala della Muta” in Camerino (MC), l'auditorium "Flaiano" in Pescara, Philarmonia Hall in Kiev, Blue Note in Milan, with such musicians as Stefano Battaglia, Claudio Fasoli, Antonio Zambrini, Michael Blake, Mario Zara, Fabrizio Bosso, Emilio Soana, Giovanni Falzone, Massimo Colombo, Guido Bombardieri, Massimo Vescovi, Francesco Pinetti, Carlo Nicita, Cristiano Arcelli, Stefano Risso, Alessandro Giachero, Mirco Mariottini, Michele Di Toro, Yuri Goloubev, Manu Carre, Francesco Bigoni, Marco Mistrangelo, Tito Mangialajo, Pietro Ballestrero, Walter Beltrami, Daniele Patumi, Max De Aloe, to name a few.
Participated in various International Festivals, such as Padova Jazz Festival, Iseo Jazz Festival, Clusone Jazz Festival, Varese Open jazz Festival, Padova Porsche Festival, Odessa Jazz Carnival, Umbria Jazz.
